The beef patty (crispy beef bun) is one of the most popular snacks in Xi'an, China. It has 1,200 years of history and because it only used to be available for the royal family during the Tang Dynasty it is also know as a "Royal Crispy Beef Bun". Royal army generals took these patties with them to escape from wars and brought this new delicacy to small villages where it received a very warm welcome from the locals. Their love for the patty only grew stronger day by day and has been passed on up until this very day.
